I believe that positive change and growth are possible for everyone. My hope is to create a safe, respectful, and trusting environment where this growth can thrive.
I was born in Oregon and have lived in Eugene for the vast majority of my life. Mental health challenges affected my childhood through late adolescence, and substance abuse affected my late teens. I was, and still am, very fortunate to have people in my life who helped me navigate those experiences and continue to support me. These challenges inspired me to pursue a career as a therapist and to work with others in similar situations. While I am still in the process of becoming a therapist, my approach to helping youth centers on building and maintaining positive, respectful, and trusting relationships, and meeting them where they are at. This creates a strong foundation for learning, healing, and recovery.
My first job in mental and behavioral health was at a special education school for students with behavioral and developmental disorders who needed more support than their home schools could provide. Through working alongside these students, as well as reflecting on my own experiences with mental health and those of loved ones, I discovered that my passion lies in helping youth and teens navigate mental health and substance recovery.
Outside of work, I love being active, especially while living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. My favorite activities include bouldering, working out at the gym, running, and hiking. I also grew up playing video games and still enjoy them today. In addition, I enjoy playing board games, card games, and chess with friends and family.
Professional Background
My professional journey in mental health began with my work in special education, particularly with students who have severe behavioral, developmental, and intellectual disorders.
Education Credentials
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon.
