Willow Wilde

MSW, CSWA

I strive to create a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a judgment-free environment.

I am dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive mental health support to individuals, regardless of where you are on your journey. My approach is rooted in empathy, mindfulness, and evidence-based practices, such as a strength-based, family-centered approach that incorporates CBT, DBT, and play therapy. I enjoy using theoretical frameworks, such as Developmental Theory, Systems Theory, and Attachment Theory, to inform my practice and deepen my understanding of my clients and their dynamic individual systems.

As a clinician, I have gained a significant amount of my knowledge through both learned and lived experiences. I am no stranger to addiction, as I watched family members struggle to maintain their sobriety. I have watched my family and friends struggle with mental illness and helped to advocate for them and help them get through their lives and become successful adults. I started my journey to obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work when my now-adult children were teenagers. They would bring their friends home with problems, and I would help their families through whatever issues were plaguing them. It was after helping many families that a close friend, Myra, suggested I pursue a degree in Social Work so I could continue to help those who needed assistance.

My counseling approach is simple. I meet people where they are on their journey and offer to help them step up to a higher level of awareness and healing through their journey. My passion is helping those who seek assistance by serving as an advocate for those in need. I strive to create a space where those seeking treatment feel safe and heard. I want to make a secure and enriching environment where individuals can be themselves, regardless of their unique paths and preferences and I am a fierce ally.

I have many hobbies and loves in life. I have been married for over 30 years to my best friend and have two fantastic adult children. I have a deep love for the outdoors, including fishing, camping, hiking, swimming, painting, gardening, and photography. I also dabble in jewelry wrapping and other crafty things. I love animals, with my main passion being breeding and raising Scottish Terriers. I also have six Ball Pythons and love all creatures.

Professional Background

I started at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where I earned an AA in Arts. I then pushed it further and obtained my B.A. in Social Work from Lewis and Clark State College, located in Lewiston, Idaho, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with highest honors. I then pressed on and achieved my dream of an MSW in Social Work from Boise State University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude.

After graduating from Lewis and Clark State College with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, I worked as a Child Welfare investigator in the State of Oregon, where I witnessed firsthand how substance use can destroy a family while pursuing my Master's Degree. During my journey to earning my Master's degree, I worked as an intern at Curry Hospital in Gold Beach, Oregon. As a therapy intern at Curry Hospital, I worked as a Grief Social Worker for a year until an illness in my family forced us to move from our beautiful home on the coast inland to Eugene, where I spent a year working as a Child Therapist at Jasper Mountain. My journey since graduating with my MSW has been full of learning and new experiences, and I look forward to assisting those on the path to recovery and clarity.
